This is the 1991 opus by the Glaswegian band Primal Scream. They were never able to replicate its success, but this album, produced by a club DJ, hit the zeitgeist for rave culture. It's a solid album, connecting each song by its ambitious theme - it comes to acid house by way of The Rolling Stones and Velvet Underground. It even has an Exile on Main Street (#14) vibe, especially on the lead track, “Movin’ On Up.” There are some extended club jams on here, giving it a trippy, psychedelic sound. No issues with this one on this list - it’s an intriguing windiow into the early 90s British music scene.
